What is your artistic approach? What visions, sensations or feelings do you want to evoke in the viewer?
Sensual expression and emotionality are at the center stage in my artistic works - especially in the series with animals titled "Mysterious Animal Kingdom and exotic lands". I focus on expressing my emotions by presenting silhouettes of wild animals, using intense colors, expressive gestures, and dynamic lines. It seems to me that each artist expresses their feelings and deeply hidden emotions through these elements. In my paintings, particularly, I aim for each viewer to connect with the artwork on a personal level, identifying a part of themselves and their thoughts within the figures depicted. I would like my art to bring joy to the lives of those who engage with my art. I try to create a message that enhances the viewer's mood and brings a sense of happiness to their experience with my creations.
What is the process of creating your works? Spontaneous or with a long preparatory process (technical, inspiration from art classics or other)?
I am quite a detail-oriented person and I find it essential to engage in thorough planning and primary sketchy visualization of my idea. Therefore, I try to carefully consider and plan my work before I start the final painting. I often spend hours creating digital designs of my works and then transfer them to Canvas. Sometimes it happens that I sit for hours refining and adjusting specific elements, only to be 100% convinced that I have done what I truly wanted to do. Of course, the final vision changes many times during the painting process where colors, textures, and attributes undergo changes but despite everything, the initial project always needs to be done in advance.
Monika Mrowiec (born in 1991) is a Polish artist with a background in both classical and modern art. Her studies at Opole University, where she focused on visual arts, graphic design, and new media, along with her postgraduate work in architecture and interior design, shape her distinctive, multifaceted approach to painting. Her work often merges classical motifs, particularly from ancient mythology, with the vibrant, expressive elements of pop art. This unique style highlights her focus on contrasting classical figures with contemporary elements, such as the textures and patterns inspired by luxury fashion brands, giving her pieces a modern edge. Her recent collections include dynamic pieces inspired by fashion and the iconography of pop culture, blending monochromatic portraits with striking, colorful backdrops and textures that bring her subjects to life in bold, engaging ways.
