Do you have a format or medium that you are most comfortable with? if yes, why?
I love creating large-format paintings the most as the expansive canvas offers many more opportunities for emotional creativity, expression, and playful exploration of colors.
Where do you produce your works? At home, in a shared workshop or in your own workshop? And in this space, how do you organize your creative work?
I bring my paintings to life in a cozy, intimate painting studio—an exclusive space dedicated solely to my craft, where I can calm down, isolate myself from everyday problems, and simply allow myself to create whatever my heart desires in that particular moment.
Does your work lead you to travel to meet new collectors, for fairs or exhibitions? If so, what does it bring you?
Yes, for me, the most precious aspect of participating in these events is the opportunity to connect with other people. Confronting their thoughts about my artworks, sharing insights
with fellow artists, with whom we can exchange our valuable experiences, and then observe each other's development. Other people can show me a layer of reception that is completely new to me and that is very valuable. I believe this interaction allows me to broaden my horizons, spread my wings, and create more and better art.
Monika Mrowiec (born in 1991) is a Polish artist with a background in both classical and modern art. Her studies at Opole University, where she focused on visual arts, graphic design, and new media, along with her postgraduate work in architecture and interior design, shape her distinctive, multifaceted approach to painting. Her work often merges classical motifs, particularly from ancient mythology, with the vibrant, expressive elements of pop art. This unique style highlights her focus on contrasting classical figures with contemporary elements, such as the textures and patterns inspired by luxury fashion brands, giving her pieces a modern edge. Her recent collections include dynamic pieces inspired by fashion and the iconography of pop culture, blending monochromatic portraits with striking, colorful backdrops and textures that bring her subjects to life in bold, engaging ways.
